Community Health Centers

We power members of the National Association of Community Health Centers across the country with microgrids that deliver resilience, savings and sustainability. American Microgrid Solutions not only designs and manages installation of the system, we work with partners who fund these systems so that the people who keep the most vulnerable in our communities healthy are resilient.

Microgrids & Community Health Centers

How do Community Health Centers benefit from microgrids?

Microgrids provide resilience during power outage as well as economic benefits and enhanced sustainability during normal conditions.

Why not just install a standby generator?

Standby generators only provide benefits when there are power outages. Microgrids provide benefits to Community Health Centers in all conditions. Microgrids sometimes include standby generators, but deliver more value from the solar generation and battery storage components.

If we install a microgrid, are we disconnecting from the power grid?

With your Community Health Center’s microgrid, you will still be connected to and served by your utility and the power grid. The microgrid then helps you benefit from getting the most from solar while the sun is shining, using a battery to store excess energy and keep you going if the grid goes down.
